It would have cost them merely 7 million and would have seemed to provide some stability in the RB room after all this work putting together the O-Line. I don't see why Najee wouldn't want to test free agency after next year. Help us understand a little more deeply of what might have went into Omar & Tomlin's thought process on this one. Thanks!!!

Najee ran behind a bad O-line his whole time in Pittsburgh. You can't fairly evaluate his NFL career. Only knock is he doesn't have break-away speed.

1000 yds with 17 games means what? This isn't 1974. Do the math. Harris averages 64 yds per game/3.9 per carry. Plus, he only has had six 100 games out of 51 games played. Add in his passive comments to the press, to include questioning the team's work ethic and culture, and this is the result. The team is weeding out the immaturity.

Fields stinks is not a qb get some kind of use out of him. He should welcome any role to stay in the nfl.

I like Najee, but his 3.9 yards per run average is not good enough. Stop with the 1000 yard seasons narrative. That's an old metric for success. 1000 yards over a 17 game season is only 59 yards per game. Not worth $7m. Jalen Warren was undrafted and is just as good, if not more productive, than Najee and for less money.

Omar Khan is a GM that looks for the best value. Some would argue that the cost of the 5th year option is a value however Jalen Warren is likely the better value for the future. I don’t buy that they are trying to work on a contract. This is a prove it year with flexibility for both the Steelers and Najee. I like Najee but his value to the team is likely not worth the long term money. Derrick Henry was awesome but don’t get the Titans to the superbowl. Super Bowl are won by superstar quarterbacks these days. The running g back is complimentary. I trust Omar.

If what youre saying about Tomlin wanting Najee to come back and hes basically his son etc. then it proves what we already know. He runs off emotions and loyalty and not brains and giving them the best chance to win. I think Najee tries to make an angry run video every run, which is not always good. He needs to quit trying to find the contact and hand fight with them going down the field every single play.

Numbers don’t lie. 3.9 yards per carry for his career. League average is 4.4/4.5. Warren had 5.2 behind the same line. Najee has power, but lacks speed, vision, and elusiveness.

They have to resign najee to try to save face with the players if that's really still even possible, after they have showed their true colors by drafting a first round Lt to play at the RT position intentionally. Criminal quite frankly, and trust me the players see this, imagine Broderick or this last Lt pick falling in the draft to the next team which would play them at their Lt position and the many many millions of dollars more their career would have been worth. This classless sneaky plan by the Steelers shows beyond any doubt that these players and their careers are expendable to the Steelers, I'm still in shock about this blatant trickery and disrespect of the player the Steelers have revealed to us all. If Broderick would have failed at Lt last year then this wouldn't be a issue of organization "character", like it is now. Anybody who thinks warren is better than Najee is delusional thats like saying Parker is better than Bettis or James is better than Bryant Najee is the most durable back in the league and he doesn't fumble and he handles the rock more than most ,the only thing i see wrong with najee is he's to heavy for the way he eant to run if he dropped 7to 10lbs he'd be more effective at the way he choses to run warren is an awesome back but he wouldnt be able to handle the load Harris is ask to handle
